If you are looking for a fun bar experience with karaoke galore - By all means, go to Khalils. I've been to a few gatherings here, and we typically have a good time. However, if you want a delicious meal, you may decide to skip Khalils. For one, this is one of the few places to smoke indoors - and smokers take advantage of it! Even in the "non-smoking" section, the smoke comes seeping in and is pretty disgusting for us non-smokers. Also, although the menu is quite extensive and has some interesting options - I'm not sure anyone actually eats here...which makes me suspicious. We walked in a while back and the hostess was VERY surprised to hear we wanted to have dinner. In fact, she could only find us one menu. We were (literally) one of two tables there for dinner. It was very awkward, as no music was playing, and our waitress disappeared. Another waitress was in the corner talking on her cellphone, and a third came in and was very surprised to see us. Despite this, no one came back to the table to take our order. So we left. They have a huge space, in which only 25% of it or so is really being used. I'd recommend they nix the restaurant altogether and turn it into a larger bar, as that seems to be their strength.

Very smokey and very empty. I guess the lack of people should have been my first warning sign. The bartenders are nice and the waitresses are barely noticeable. Decent beer selection and no atmosphere. The owner, Khalil, is very rude and does not like his patrons to enjoy themselves. Be careful at how excited you get when watching a game, Khalil will have 'talk to you,' even if you are only cheering. I guess he doesn't like his warbling karoke to be disturbed. The food was sub par and I think that mine had sit out for a while before being served, mine was lukewarm and very rubbery. Not worth it. There are so many good bars that are within blocks of this hole, that I will NEVER have to return like so many others. Pure garbage. West End, Markham Street Pub and the bar inside the Embassy Suites put this place to shame.

You know...it's not really an Irish Pub, so let's start with that...the hummus is pretty good, but the Shepherd's Pie...no...and the Corned Beef and Cabbage...oh...it's non-existent...not on the menu...nada! So, what do you eat at a smoking restaurant??? Smoked pooridge!!! Well, only if it's an Irish Restaurant! This one is a no-go for second time...better alternatives!!

Cheap food. Good atmosphere. Terrible sound system but I still love karaoke. Drinks were reasonably priced.

This place has good food and a nice drink collection. They have an robust list of beers including good selection of Boulevard beers (like the brewery). They have a small but well-designed whiskey collection (Scotch like Aberlour; bourbon - my favorite - like Booker's and Knob Creek; American Whiskey including Jim Beam Black and White). They are apparently the only ones in the area who carry 5 Crown types, including Crown XR. The waitress I had this evening kindly steered me away from Crown XR ($20/shot) towards the Reserve. Only drawback: this place allows smoking. Everything else (wait staff; food; ambiance) was excellent. It was pretty heavy with smokers tonight, but I also knew that coming in.

The place is nothing to brag about! The problem is the owner who has a very bad personality and is very rude! He doesn't yet know the success of his business depends on his patrons. I do not recommend anyone to go there to be treated rude by the owner who thinks he doing his patrons a favor to come there! He even stated that he doesn't apologize to anyone in his own business! The owner evidently does not have enough sense to realize that may be the reason for the empty seats in his business! Also, the food was horrible!! I wouldn't rate it one star if I could save this review without a rating.

They have a good selection of beer at good prices,BUT don't eat there. The food was so bad. The cook/owner is not great and he is rude. My friend ordered a fillet with mash potatoes and they tasted sour! The owner refused to replace the side and had a f*ck off attitude. All our food was overcooked as well. Then to top it off the waitress added 18% gratuity to the bill for a 4 person table and added a service charge. Needless to say we paid none of that and left.

My girlfriend and I went here for lunch today. I had heard that they had a variety of menu items and I was eager to see what they had. Well, I am the type to seek out and find the best dish at specific restaurants and when I do, I will go there just for that regardless of anything else. Since it was lunch time, I passed on the extensive beer selection yet my GF ordered a punch drink and she did not stop drinking it until it was gone.. It was wonderful she said. I scanned the menu and it was very extensive. Then I ran across my weakness, fish and chips. In Little Rock, it seems that people who do fish and chips fry the cod as one whole piece. Well most so. I asked Kevin and he said that it was one whole piece. I asked 'If..." and before I could finish, he had said, "I will see if he can cut it into four pieces." he came back from the kitchen and the chef said no problem. I asked if the malt vinager was in a bottle. He said yes. Decision made. We both ordered the fish and chips. When it was delivered it was beautifuly golden w/ fresh parsley. I added my vinager and enjoyed the best fish and chips I have ever found in Little Rock or North Little Rock. Hands down. Fresh cod, beer batter, Harps, I would think and crunchy. Kevin our server, was spot on. Awesome at what he does. I will be back to experience that vast selection of beer on saturday nights. That also karoke night..

I've gone to Khalil's twice with my family. The first time for lunch was exceptional. The second time for dinner I wondered what on Earth had happened to the restaurant we visited before. On our first visit the menu was a little restricted because it was lunchtime. We were the only patrons, and our waitress was extremely attentive and very professional. My dining companions said she was overbearing but I appreciated her professionalism. We tried the pork chops and peaches and the sauerbraten, both of which were absolutely delicious but the sauerbraten definitely pulled ahead. The second time around we went for dinner on a Sunday night. The place was almost empty, except for the bar. The raucous and off-tune karaoke more than "drifted' (blasted is more like it) into the dining area, especially thanks to the hostesses insistence on setting us at the table nearest to the bar door. Our overly familiar waiter cheerily informed us that because they were slow that evening the staff decided they'd have a go with the karaoke machine still set up from Saturday night. "Shouldn't they at least pretend to be working?" I wondered. What sort of manager allows their staff to sing badly on a karaoke machine while the restaurant has patrons? Although they disliked the overattentive nature of our first server, my dining partners were wishing they had her back over the guy we got shafted with this time. He hovered around our table, tried to make small talk when we were having our own private conversation and had a very unprofessional, overly casual air about him. Another patron gave him a dressing down on his attitude after he failed to provide him with silverware, salt & pepper and the type of fries he ordered. Since we were able to order from the dinner menu, we selected the K-Dog Sampler, which features three different appetizers. When they arrived, I was disappointed. Not only were the portions ridiculously small for the price but they tasted mediocre. I got the feeling that mediocre food could be passed off as "exotic" because Arkansans are supposedly some backwards hicks that don't get out and travel or something. But guess again - some of us have been to the Middle East, Europe and elsewhere around the world, and we know what the food is supposed to taste like. Since we were wowed by the sauerbraten the first time, two of us ordered it and the third got the salmon. The excellent server must have taken the excellent sauerbraten with her because this was NOT made from the prime rib. Or if it was, it was the absolute worst prime rib I have ever seen in my life. It was tough, and it tasted like the grill hadn't been cleaned before it was cooked. Reportedly the salmon was very tasty, though. In the end, it seems like Khalil's can't decide whether it's going to be a bar or a restaurant. Perhaps in the future they'd be better served by examining their business model and settling on one or the other.

My wife and I went last weekend. The restaurant was about half full. When you walk in there is a bar on the left side of the lobby that is very loud and smokey. We sat down and ordered some beers and chips and guacamole. The beers came right out and since my wife was really hungry we both ordered right away. After 30 minutes I asked about our guacamole. They had forgotten it. They brought it right out and it was BROWN. Seriously. As soon as I saw it I asked about our entree order. The waitress went away and five minutes later the owner came over and said they had forgotten our entree order as well. He brought us a salad to make up for the wait and said it would be right out. 30 minutes later, and after being there for over an hour, we asked for the bill to pay for our drinks and left. To be honest I just wanted to walk out. This place is a joke. The waitress were working hard but the staff and owner are clueless and did I mention the guac was brown? Please dont waste your time here. There are plenty of good restaurants in the area that want to earn your business with good food and service.

Not a bad Karaoke seen on Sat and Wed night. There are quite a few beers on tap so it's pretty easy to find a beer that u will probably drink to many of. I did not try the food and I was only here twice but it was fun. The place has good waitresses and bartenders from my experience there. The atmosphere in the bar is good and everyone there seems to have a good time. If you are in the area it is worth checking out.
